Health and healing in Symbaroum is realistic and dangerous.
Health System:
- Toughness: Represents physical health and resilience
- Determined by race and traits
- Can be increased through advancement
Wound Levels:
- Healthy: No wounds
- Lightly Wounded: Minor injuries (-1 to all tests)
- Wounded: Significant injuries (-2 to all tests)
- Heavily Wounded: Serious injuries (-3 to all tests)
- Dying: Near death (unconscious, may die)
Damage Types:
- Physical: Cuts, bruises, broken bones
- Burning: Fire and heat damage
- Poison: Toxic substances (damage over time)
- Corruption: Mystical damage (affects soul)
Healing Methods:
- Natural Healing: Rest and time
- First Aid: Immediate treatment (requires medical supplies)
- Surgery: Complex medical procedures (requires medical skill)
- Healing Spells: Mystical restoration
- Potions: Magical healing items
Recovery Time:
- Light Wounds: 1-3 days with rest
- Serious Wounds: 1-2 weeks with medical care
- Critical Wounds: 1-3 months with extensive care
- Mortal Wounds: May not recover, requires magical intervention
Death and Dying:
- Characters can die from accumulated wounds
- Death saves may be required in extreme situations
- Resurrection is possible but rare and dangerous
